While Aotearoa is still very much experiencing restrictions in some way, shape or form, it’s encouraging to see additional funding support to boost the arts sector.

If you’re working for a charitable organisation focused on community events, culture or the arts, there are grants available to give your organisation a boost, especially if you’ve been impacted by the pandemic.

Here are a few of our favourite upcoming arts boosting grants, as identified by our Grants Expertise Management System (GEMS).

Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

The $50 million Regional Events Fund is designed to stimulate domestic tourism and travel between regions through holding events. This is intended to support the tourism and events sector and replace some of the spending from international tourists due to the border closure as a result of COVID-19. Funding is split by Regional Tourism Organisations, with each region having their own criteria and deadlines.

Remember to adhere to the funder guidelines

If you’re applying for an upcoming grant opportunity, make sure you read the funder guidelines and eligibility criteria carefully! We also highly recommend reaching out to the funder first, if possible – developing funder relationships goes a long way! Good luck, and if you need support with your grant-seeking strategy we’d love to hear from you! You can also check out more of our top grant writing tips on our blog.
